MPNFL DIVISION ONE FRANKSTON YCW are premiers of the MPNFL once again. The powerhouse club claimed premiership glory with an impressive Grand Final win over Bonbeach at Skybus Stadium last Sunday. Both clubs had to contend with wet conditions in Frankston. The Stonecats had the better of Bonbeach in the first quarter, but couldn’t make them pay. AN investigation into the notorious new 40kmph speed limit on Nepean Highway in Frankston is underway. The speed limit at the intersection was reduced from 60 kmph to 40 kmph in October last year. Since then multiple motorists have contacted The Times to complain about being fined, with one estimating that thousands of people had been caught by the speed camera at the intersection of Nepean Highway and Davey Street. In late July, Victorian road safety camera commissioner Neville Taylor initiated an investigation into how the new speed limit was established. An end date for the investigation was not announced.…

A MOVE to fortnightly rubbish bin collections is being assessed by Frankston Council as it looks to reduce the amount of waste it sends to landfill. Frankston Council is currently investigating ways to divert more waste from landfill. A survey it is conducting asks residents their thoughts on a proposed change to fortnightly general rubbish bin collections. A “waste circularity” plan is currently out for consultation. THE fate of a proposal to build a 10-storey development at the controversial Endeavour Cove precinct in Patterson lakes looked set to be decided by VCAT. Kingston Council publicly called for the planning minister to call-in the proposal for 64 Pier One Drive in July but was not successful. Council now expects the matter to be heard by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal imminently. The Endeavour Cove precinct has a long history and is subject to complex planning controls. MPNFL DIVISION TWO LANGWARRIN has put the finishing touches on its perfect season. The Kangaroos were crowned 2022 MPNFL Division Two premiers on Saturday. They defeated Karingal at Skybus Stadium. Langwarrin entered the Grand Final undefeated for the season. A four goals to zero opening quarter saw them take a big early lead. Karingal struggled to hit the scoreboard all day.
