THE pig, kindly donated to the Wattle Club by Mr Reeves of “The Grange” Mornington Road, has proved to be a valuable asset, and owing to the public spirit of its various owners, the funds of the Club have benefited to the amount of £7 17s 6d. The pig was won at the euchre tournament by Mrs C. Wood and Mr J. Wells who promptly returned “Denis” to the club to be raffled. Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash in Patterson Lakes this afternoon. It is believed a van has struck a pedestrian in a car park outside shops on Thompson Road just after 12.30pm. Emergency services attempted to revive the woman but she died at the scene. The exact cause of the incident is being investigated and the male driver of the vehicle is assisting police with their enquiries. Anyone with information or who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
