Water Tank Explosion Frankston.
A water tank from a house in Drum Close Frankston exploded and took off like a rocket, it ended up on the nature strip on Dalpura Circuit. When it exploded there was a loud bang and it shook houses for quite a distance around. Neighbours ran outside and some of them saw the water tank a few hundred yards in the sky, also debris rained down on nearby houses. The house next door had their fence and belongings and car damaged. Frankston CFA and Police attended the scene. Frankston CIU are looking into the explosion. Police noticed wires around the fence and believe it to be a “Man Trap” please check with Frankston Police before using these photo’s or commenting on it.
The force of the explosion took out a fair bit of the rear of the house and part of the roof. Some of the shattered roof tiles rained down on houses in the vicinty, one local raced to his kids in a swimming pool as the rubble came down some of the pieces of the roof tiles ended up in Dalpura Circuit. I heard the police might have attended the house earlier that day.
After the initial explosion a local plummer who lives in a street near the scene went around but nobody was home, he turned the gas and water off to make the scene safe and assisted police saying that it appeared the hot water system had been tampered with and the pressure valve had been capped off, Police gas investigators were going to attend the scene later to confirm this.
I have been told that a similar thing had been done on mythbusters, just wondering if this question should be asked?
