Karen_RaeCold Case Missing Person Squad detectives have taken over the investigation into the disappearance of Frankston North woman, Karen Rae.

The 48-year-old has not been seen since leaving her home address in Adib Court on Wednesday 15 April about 7pm.

Acting Detective Sergeant Peter Tasiopoulos said that while Karen may have disappeared of her own accord, police won’t discount foul play.

“If Karen is out there and is choosing to be ‘missing’ there is no problem with that,” Sergeant Tasiopoulos said.

“However, we need to investigate whether something more sinister has occurred which is why we need public assistance.

“If you know anything or saw anything, we’d really like to speak to you.

“We will have an information caravan set up from 11am on Wednesday 13 May at the intersection of Frankston-Dandenong Road and Excelsior Drive in Frankston North.

“If you can’t make it to the caravan but you still have information, we’d really encourage calls to Crime Stoppers.”

Investigators have released an image of Karen in the hope that someone may have information on her whereabouts.

She is described as being Caucasian in appearance, slim build with long blonde hair.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
