Police are investigating after a man exposed himself to a group of girls in Bonbeach last month.

Two 12-year-old girls and two 11-year-old girls were wading into the water about 1.40pm when a male jogger passed them on 26 November.

The jogger was travelling south towards Patterson River but reversed direction after passing the girls.

As the man drew closer, the girls noticed he had no pants on and was exposing himself towards them.

They sought refuge at a nearby house belonging to a relative of one of the girls, while the man fled north along the beach.

He was described as middle aged, of solid build, and was wearing a blue cap and a grey singlet.

Moorabbin Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
