FIREMEN were forced to cut into the roof of a house on fire in Lewis St, Frankston, last week in their efforts to fight a fire inside.

Crews from Frankston and Patterson Lakes brigades used two pumpers, teleboom, salvage truck and control vehicles to tackle the fire at the single storey brick veneer, 2.30am, Wednesday 3 May.

Frankston duty officer Stuart Curnow said the cause of the fire had not been determined, Wednesday. “A prompt response by about 15 firefighters contained the fire in about 20 minutes,” he said.

No one was injured and it was unclear if the house was occupied at the time.
