A MAN was stabbed in the neck after two strangers knocked on his door in Daly Street, Frankston at 8.25pm on Monday 18 June.

The victim, 46, answered the door and had a conversation with two men and an argument ensued before the resident was stabbed in the neck “with an unknown edged weapon”.

The two doorknockers ran off and police say the victim and the duo were not known to each other.

The 46-year-old stab victim was treated at The Alfred hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Both men were described as being Caucasian, about 5 ft 7 inches in height, and aged in their 40s with solid builds and “tanned complexions”.

One of the men was wearing white clothes, while the other wore a dark beanie, jumper and cargo pants.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au online.

UPDATED 27 June: Police have now released an artist’s impression of the two men based on descriptions.
