MORE than $35,000 is on its way to charities thanks to the Frankston Charitable Grants Program.
Frankston mayor Cr Colin Hampton said the grants are vital for many charities in the municipality and are used to expand services, upgrade equipment or ensure services can continue to be delivered to the community.
“Over the past 9 years, the Charitable Fund Grants Program has made a real positive impact to many local charities, who with limited funds and resources deliver vital support to many in our community,” Cr Hampton said.
“It is a real honour to meet the inspiring faces behind these local charities, and to hear how these grants will make a difference in the lives of the people they work with.”
Grants were given to:
- Operation Larder Inc ($7954)
- Cancer Patients Foundation Limited ($5000)
- Micare Ltd ($4000)
- Mums Supporting Mums ($4961)
- Groomed to Go ($5000)
- Children Australia ($1400)
- Ardoch Youth Foundation ($5000)
- the Australia Red Cross Society’s trauma teddy and calico doll programs ($660)
- The Shorehouse Community Group Inc ($1039)
The Frankston Charitable Fund was established by a deed of gift between the Melbourne Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and Frankston Council in 2009.
It a perpetual fund, where the interest in dividends provides an annual grants program to charities operating in Frankston City.
