A DRIVER has been caught driving over 50 kmph over the speed limit on the Dingley Bypass.

On 29 July, Moorabbin highway patrol members clocked a vehicle driving at 132 kmph in the 80 kmph zone between Tootal Road and Boundary Road. The car was intercepted by police.

Police said the “driver allegedly explained the reason for his speed was because he was wearing steel-capped work boots.”

The car was impounded for 30 days and the driver will be charged on summons.
