MORDIALLOC College principal Michelle Roberts has been recognised with the top prize at an education awards ceremony last week.
Ms Roberts took home the award for the most outstanding secondary principal and the Lindsay Thompson award at the 2019 Victorian Education Excellence Awards. The Lindsay Thompson award recognises “an award winner whose contribution has been judged to be the most outstanding to Victorian government school education.”
Ms Roberts told guests at the ceremony in her acceptance speech that “it is certainly a huge honour to win this award”.
“It is a privilege to be Principal of Mordialloc College and a principal within the state education system,” she said. “I have asked a lot of my community over the past nine years and I am so proud of what my staff and students have been able to achieve at Mordialloc during this time to make it a leading choice in education for our local community and beyond.”
The ceremony was held at the Regent Theatre on 25 October 2019.
