THE Mordialloc Masonic Hall will be known as Platform 81 when it reopens as a youth facility.

The hall was bought by Kingston Council for $1.15 million in 2011, but has since been vacant. Last year $2 million works to transform the hall into a permanent home for Kingston Youth Services were scheduled.

The ongoing redevelopment works at the heritage building include adding a lift and ramps for disability access, a new kitchen, a new office space, and support service spaces (“Youth the future for hall”, The News, 4/9/19).

Council endorsed the name change at their most recent council meeting.
