A 65-YEAR-old woman and a 44-year-old man have been arrested following an alleged aggravated burglary in Seaford on Monday night, 7 September.

The pair allegedly forced entry into a Duncan Ave address and assaulted a 39-year-old man with a weapon, in the presence of his partner and children.

The victim was treated for injuries sustained to the head and back.

Responding police located the pair in a nearby vehicle. They were arrested without incident.

The 65-year-old woman was charged with aggravated burglary  and appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates Court  on 10 September.

The 44-year-old remains in police custody, assisting detectives with their investigation. He is expected to face the Magistrates Court for charges including burglary, assault and theft.
