Southern Metro Division 4 Response Unit have charged a man after he was intercepted driving a vehicle in Frankston last night.
Officers stopped the Black Mazda BT50 on Bondi Avenue and spoke with the 30-year-old driver about 7.30pm.
A search of the man’s vehicle located a taser, quantity of drugs and cash.
Police have since executed a search warrant at a residential property on Screen Street, Frankston.
During the search of the premises, officers located a number of items including:
- Three handguns (one loaded);
- A rifle;
- Various ammunition;
- Commercial quantity of what is believed to be methylamphetamine and 1: 4 butanediol;
- Fireworks and;
- A number of edged weapons.
A 27-year-old woman from Capel Sound who was also in the vehicle at the time, was spoken to and released without charge.
The Frankston man has been charged with:
- Possess traffickable quantity of unregistered firearms
- Traffick commercial quantity of Methylamphetamine
- Traffick 1, 4 Butanediol
- Fail to comply with a direction to assist
He was remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
The investigation remains ongoing.
