NOMINATIONS have opened for the 2023 Kingston citizen of the year awards.

Nominations are also being accepted for the community group of the year award. The mayor Hadi Saab is encouraging people to nominate volunteers and community groups for both categories.

“The tireless work of our volunteers and community groups helps make Kingston such a great place to live, work and play,” Saab said.   “We certainly wouldn’t be as successful and connected without the spirit of volunteerism we have in our city.

“The Kingston Community Awards aims to showcase fantastic community members – we’re looking for nominations for people young and old, for high-flyers and quiet achievers, for individuals and groups. I encourage everyone to nominate people and groups you admire and inspire you.”

Nominations are open until 19 March. Winners will be announced during national volunteer week on 18 May. They have previously been announced on Australia Day.
