A JET-SKI rider survived an eight-hour ordeal in the waters off Parkdale last week.
A 48-year-old Clarinda man launched his jet ski from Patterson River at around 6pm on 11 January. At around 10.30pm he called a relative to tell them he was having engine troubles.
The jet-ski rider’s brother took his boat to look for home, but lost communication a little after midnight. Police were called, who soon began searching with the help of the Coast Guard.
Thankfully the missing man was found aboard his powerless jet ski before the break of day.
The man was taken back to shore uninjured.
