A PATTERSON Lakes man has been charged with murder after the discovery of a woman’s body in Little River.
67-year-old Patterson Lakes man Allen Keys was arrested at Melbourne Airport on 3 April. Police allege he was attempting to board an international flight.
Police had been investigating the disappearance of 53-year-old Dandenong woman Eva Lasrini, Keys’ ex-wife, who was reported missing on 2 April. In a statement, Victoria Police said “enquiries by local police and detectives confirmed the Dandenong woman had not contacted family as expected and the circumstances were deemed suspicious.
“As part of the investigation by Missing Persons Squad detectives a woman’s body was found in the vicinity of Little River Road and the Princes Freeway in Little River Saturday afternoon and a crime scene was established. Officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit are processing the scene.
“The body, which is yet to be formally identified, is believed to be the missing woman.”
A fundraiser has been set up to support Lasrini’s two daughters, who live in Indonesia. The GoFundMe read that her children “have lost not only their mother, but their main source of love and support.”
“Even while living in Australia, her daughters were always at the centre of her world,” the GoFundMe read. “With no other family to turn to, they are navigating this heartbreaking loss completely on their own. We are raising funds to help bring her daughters to Australia so they can say goodbye to their mum, be part of laying her to rest, and help make decisions about her final wishes.”
Allen Keys was charged with one count of murder, and remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court. He is set to return to court in August.
