FANS of one of the world’s most iconic entertainers are invited to experience the music, story and spirit of Barbra Streisand when Simply Streisand comes to Frankston Arts Centre as part of its popular Daytime Music & Theatre series in November.
Starring acclaimed Australian performer Queenie van de Zandt, the production is a moving and joyful tribute to the celebrated singer, actress and cultural icon. Through powerful performances of beloved classics including The Way We Were, People and Evergreen, audiences will be taken on a journey through Streisand’s remarkable career and enduring legacy.
More than a concert, Simply Streisand explores the personal connections between Queenie and her lifelong musical inspiration. Blending storytelling, humour and heartfelt reflection, the show highlights themes of artistic courage, determination and the challenges faced by women who choose their own path.
Widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading cabaret performers, Queenie van de Zandt has built an impressive career spanning musical theatre, television, film and live performance. Her many accolades include 22 theatre award nominations and nine wins, while audiences may also recognise her from television series such as The Newsreader and Upright II.
