A DRIVER is expected to be charged after allegedly driving erratically through Braeside Park. In a statement, police said that the Holden Commodore driver was “narrowly missing families enjoying the long weekend weather”. “Upon arrival highway patrol located part of the vehicle’s front bumper next to a broken bollard and damaged tree with the vehicle nearby and the driver nowhere to be seen. POLICE are searching for two women after a “scuffle” at a Mordialloc bar last month. The incident occurred at Side Street Lounge on 12 February. Police allege that an altercation broke out between two groups of people. A woman was hit on the head with an unknown object. She suffered a cut above her right eye. Two women were ejected from the venue by security, and left in a car. Police have released CCTV images of two women they wish to speak to about the alternation. THE 2022 Kingston Woman of the Year award will be shared. Paula Westhead and Bronwyn Currie were named joint winners of the award at an International Women’s Day event last week, 11 March. Ms Westhead won the award for her work supporting women who have been victims of family violence. A MURAL spanning 40 meters at Chelsea Station has been completed. The mural, titled Art Pass Reimagined, was painted by artist Anu Patel. It replaces another mural by Ms Patel at the pedestrian underpass of the now-demolished Chelsea Station. The mural was funded by the Level Crossing Removal Project in partnership with Kingston City Council. It features black swans on a pond. Students from Chelsea, St Joseph’s and Bonbeach primary schools helped develop the mural in workshops. FRANKSTON’s entry into the 2021 Australian Street Art Awards won a top prize. The Frankston street art walking tours were named the best street art tours in the country. The gold award was handed out on the eve of this year’s Big Picture Fest, which takes place this week.
