THREE people from Frankston were among twenty people arrested as part of a year-long police investigation into alleged drug trafficking. Police say they had been investigating alleged trafficking of methylamphetamine, cocaine and 1,4 butanediol. Over the course of their investigation they allegedly seized millions of dollars worth of methylamphetamine, traffickable amounts of cocaine, prescription medicines, thousands of steroid tablets, a homemade machine gun, around $650,000 in cash, and three cars. SEVENTY people have objected to plans to replace heritage buildings on Davey Street with two towers, standing 30 and 22 storeys each. A proposal has been put forward to demolish the existing structures on 8 to 12 Davey Street and replace them with the two tall towers. The new buildings will be used as a residential hotel with 200 rooms, four serviced apartments, and 116 apartments. Officers from Somerville Highway Patrol were left shaking their heads following four separate incidents involving speeding drivers on Peninsula Link over-night. The first incident occurred when a 19-year-old woman was caught travelling at an alleged 138km/hr on Peninsula Link about 9pm. The Cranbourne woman’s vehicle was not registered, and she was not displaying p plates. She was issued with infringement notices for both offences and will lose her licence for three months. Officers from Mornington Divisional Response Unit have charged a man with firearms offences after executing a warrant in Frankston yesterday. Police attended a residence on Skye Road about 8am on 24 November and arrested a man and a woman. It is alleged that police located a drill press, lathe machine and various firearms parts including springs, stocks and barrels after executing a warrant.
