WORK is underway to create a new tennis precinct at Centenary Park. The $4.2 million development will host the merged Frankston and Frankston East tennis clubs. The project is funded with $3 million from the state government, $1.365 million from council, and a $35,000 contribution from the clubs. Caulfield Divisional Response Unit officers arrested three people after executing a warrant in Bonbeach this morning, seizing drugs, cash and a firearm. Police executed a warrant at a house on Mascot Avenue about 9am and seized a firearm, a large amount of cash and drugs including methylamphetamine with an alleged street value of more than $20,000. A 33-year-old Carrum man has been charged with traffick and possess methylamphetamine, possess unregistered firearm, possess ecstasy and other drug related offences. Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of a man in Frankston North earlier this month. Emergency services were called to a property on Lehmann Crescent just after 11pm on Saturday 4 April. The 47-year-old victim was treated by paramedics after being located inside the property with life-threatening injuries, however he died at the scene. Detectives arrested a 44-year-old Frankston North man today in relation to the incident. POLICE undertook a roadside operation last weekend, devoting more resources to making sure people were behaving on the road. Operation Nexus took place between 9 April and 13 April. On 12 April a 33-year-old Clarinda woman was pulled over on the Westall Road extension by Moorabbin Highway Patrol officers. Police say she was driving at 127kmph in an 80 zone in an Audi. A SPIKE in thefts from cars has been reported across a number of local suburbs. In Mentone, Parkdale, Mordialloc, Aspendale, and Chelsea Heights, more than 80 reports of items stolen from motor cars were made to police between 2 April and 6 April. Police say that most of those thefts occurred because cars were left unlocked in driveways.
