THE theft of a car from a Cheltenham dealership is being investigated by police. At around 2.30am, 17 February, police believe a man entered the Warrigal Road business and broke into a white Holden Commodore. The offender used a vehicle jack to dislodge the large iron gates, and drove the car away. The stolen car had the registration WNK634. TWO men have been arrested in Bangholme after allegedly stealing a food delivery van. The duo was arrested on 25 February. They are alleged to have stolen the van from a Narre Warren shopping centre at around 8.30am that morning. The van was parked and had been left running. The alleged offenders dumped the van on Bangholme Road at 9.30am, and fled from the scene on foot. Police chased them down and arrested them with help from the K9 unit and air wing. A $14.5 MILLION upgrade of the Mentone Lifesaving Club has been given a final tick of approval. Community consultation has closed on the project, which is set to add a rooftop viewing deck as well as new toilet and change facilities to the club. Works will also include the addition of a separate pedestrian ramp, landscaping works, and stormwater improvements. The redevelopment is a joint project by Kingston Council and the state government. KINGSTON Council will undertake parking enforcement themselves after cutting ties with an external contractor. For 15 years parking enforcement in Kingston has been undertaken by DCA, formerly known as Tenix Solutions. From mid-2020 the process will be brought in-house by council. Last year Kingston Council resolved to refund $2.3 million to motorists after an issue with their parking fine management system was discovered. Kingston Council outsourced their appeal process for parking fines to an external agency between 2006 and 2016, a process they later discovered may have been in violation of the Infringements Act 2006.
