Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing in Mordialloc on Friday. Investigators have been told a boy was walking along Main Street and reached Pompei’s Landing park before being approached by five unknown youths about 2.30pm on 24 January. One of the youths made demands for the victim’s jacket and punched him in the head several times. Another male then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim before all five fled south under the park tunnel, towards Park Street. The 15-year-old boy was hospitalised with serious injuries. A TRIP to Dromana beach on a lovely summer’s day ended in pain and a visit to Rosebud Hospital’s Emergency Department for a Chelsea woman last week. Alison Lunt received a nasty injury to her leg when she trod on a stingray. “It was a bit of an ordeal for just a day at the beach,” Ms Lunt said. “I don’t usually swim unless there are really nice conditions. A MAN was caught driving at double the speed limit on the Dingley Bypass, 16 January. Moorabbin Highway Patrol detectives spotted the car allegedly driving at 160kmph in an 80 zone in Heatherton and pulled the driver over. Police asked the man to explain his actions, and he told them he had to get his friend to a restroom. The car (below) was impounded for 30 days. NEW CCTV surveillance cameras are set to be installed across Kingston in a bid to help “improve community safety.” Additional cameras will be installed at Victory Park in Chelsea in response to a Victoria Police request, bringing the total number of cameras in Chelsea to 13. New cameras have also been installed at both the Mordialloc and Carrum Life Saving clubs, while all existing CCTV systems on the Kingston foreshore have also been updated.
