A WOMAN has died after being hit by a car in Moorooduc, 31 October. Police believe that several cars had stopped on the side of Peninsula Link at around 9pm after colliding with debris on the road. It is then believed that the woman got out of her car and was hit by another vehicle. The 64-year-old Safety Beach woman died at the scene. A 43-year-old Elsternwick woman, 45-year-old Rosebud man, and 67-year-old Dromana woman from other vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries. THE Frankston Coast Guard will host their annual blessing of the fleet on 10 November. VF1 are inviting the local community to come along to the event, which sees rescue vessels blessed by a celebrant. Representatives from Marine Search and Rescue and Emergency Services, the Water Police, Volunteer Marine Rescue Mornington and Hastings, Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad, State Emergency Service, Live Saving Victoria, and other Coast Guard flotillas attended the event last year. UPGRADE works are underway at Belvedere Park Primary School. Works at the school are set to total $1.4 million. Upgrades include the extension and refurbishment of existing classrooms, new toilets, and repairs to the roofs. Police are appealing for witnesses to a car crash in Frankston South last night. Police received reports two cars were travelling north along-side each other prior to one of the cars crashing into a tree on Frankston-Flinders Road about 7.45pm. The sole occupant of a black Honda was entrapped in the car and had to be extracted by emergency services before being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
