AN Edithvale man has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury after allegedly stabbing his mother and brother in a domestic dispute on Wednesday. The 23-year-old snapped after arguing with his mother at their Northcliffe Rd house about his Facebook page at about 6pm. Kingston police said the man became angry and upset after being told to take down the post and used a small kitchen knife to stab his brother to the left side of the chest, under his heart. THE international Clothesline Project in Frankston was launched Monday to raise awareness of family violence. A clothesline on show at Cube 37, Frankston Arts Centre, 10-13 October, is being used to illustrate the Week Without Violence campaign. It will then be displayed at different parts of the Mornington Peninsula over the next year. THE Peninsula Dragonflys are encouraging breast cancer survivors to row, row, row a boat. The colourful dragon boat cruises along Patterson River at Carrum most Saturday mornings crewed by a team of women rowers. The Dragonflys, part of the Dragons Abreast organisation, offer breast cancer survivors a chance to meet others with similar experiences and have fun while exercising. The women are putting the call out for new crew members to head along and give rowing a go later this month during National Paddle Month. WORK will begin next month on the construction of a new Carrum Family and Children’s Centre at Roy Dore Reserve. Kingston Council has awarded a $3.6 million contract to Clayton South builders DURA Constructions to build a new centre to replace the existing Rene Anderson Kindergarten, Carrum Child Care Centre and Carrum Maternal Child Health Centre.
