A WOMAN was hit on the head with a piece of wood and then robbed by a man as she was leaving Bayside shopping centre on Friday 8 May. Police are searching for a heartless driver who left a three-legged dog dying on the road during a hit and run collision in Frankston. Investigators have been told a 45-year-old man was walking his 11-year-old Jack Russell Chopper along Beach Street towards Cranbourne Road around 6.45pm on 10 May. As he crossed past an alley, a speeding car entered the alley from Beach Street, narrowly missing the man but hitting the dog in front of his horrified owner. Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 15-year-old Bethany Alsop. Bethany was last seen in Frankston on 10 April. Police are concerned for the 15-year-old’s welfare as they have been unable to make contact with her. Bethany is described as being Caucasian in appearance, 150cm tall with hazel eyes and dark-coloured hair. Investigators have released a photo of Bethany in the hope someone may have information about her whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact Triple 000.
COMMUNITY football leagues have thrown their support behind the expanded $29 million Moorabbin Reserve redevelopment project. New state-of-the-art facilities will provide a new headquarters for community leagues that represent over 14,000 players from the Southern Football Netball League (SFNL), South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) and TAC club Sandringham Dragons. Cold Case Missing Person Squad detectives have taken over the investigation into the disappearance of Frankston North woman, Karen Rae. The 48-year-old has not been seen since leaving her home address in Adib Court on Wednesday 15 April about 7pm.
