LIVE music has been filling the air at White Street Mall this month. The shopping strip received a $595,000 facelift last year. New LED lights were installed along with flexible seating and new greenery. To celebrate the upgrade, events have been running at the site throughout January. In addition to music there has been face painting, and balloon art. The White Street Mall upgrade was funded by Frankston Council and the state government. FRANKSTON Skate Park will host an Australian Skate Park League competition next month. The league will host a Metro series event at the skate park. Skaters young and old will compete, with prizes on offer. A DRIVER sleeping while in the middle of an intersection is expected to be hit with charges. Police received a report of an erratic driver on Thompsons Road in Carrum Downs during the early hours of 9 January. Somerville Highway Patrol members soon came across a parked car with its engine running in the middle of the Frankston-Dandenong Road/Thompson Road intersection. TWO people have faced court over the alleged theft of a car with a toddler inside in Chelsea. The car was allegedly taken from a grocery store on Nepean Highway at around 4pm on 8 January. Police say the car had been left running with a two-year-old boy inside while the car’s owner went into the shop. The man who allegedly stole the car stopped shortly afterwards to release the two-year-old onto Bath Street. He then allegedly drove away.
