TWO stores at Bayside Shopping Centre have been listed as COVID-19 exposure sites. The Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed that a positive COVID-19 case shopped at the centre on 31 December. The person shopped at TK Maxx from 2pm to 3pm, and at Ishka from 3pm to 3.15pm. Anyone who also visited one of those shops is being asked by the DHHS to monitor for coronavirus symptoms, and get tested if they develop. KINGSTON mayor Steve Staikos says that the state government’s plans to turn land in Heatherton earmarked for the Chain of Parks into train stabling is “disappointing”. A statement from Kingston Council read that the Delta site on Kingston Road, Heatherton will be acquired by the state government for use as stabling for the Suburban Rail Loop. A PLAN to construct two rooming houses on Potts Road in Langwarrin has been rejected by Frankston Council. A maximum of 16 residents would have been allowed on the premises. A telephone number with 24 hour access to the building’s manager would also have been available for complaints. PLANNING has begun for a new aged care facility in Cheltenham. The residential facility at Monash Health’s Kingston Centre will have the capacity for 150 beds. It is expected to cater for residents with complex needs such as dementia. The project is budgeted to cost $134.6 million.
