THE Alex Fraser Group’s bid to have their permit to operate at their Clarinda recycling facility extended until 2038 has been rejected. Kingston Council agreed earlier this week to reject the proposal after 800 community objections to the plan were lodged. The Alex Fraser Group’s current permit lasts until 2023. Pearcedale were bowled out for just 110 in their first innings, which Moorooduc chased down with pace. Moorooduc ended up being bowled out for 222 off just 41 overs, allowing them another opportunity to take on Pearcedale’s batsmen. DEBATE about a proposal to spend over $16 million on facilities in North West Ward broke down into arguments, bickering, and shouting from across the chamber at council’s 18 November meeting.
