Getting tough on soft drinks VISITORS to sports and leisure centres in Frankston will soon see sugary drinks disappear from prominent display as part of a health push to discourage the drinking of soft drinks loaded with high levels of sugar. A MONITOR sent to Frankston Council to report to the state government on “governance issues” at council will be paid $1200 for each day of the stay. Ratepayers will foot the bill for monitor Prue Digby’s work at council and will also pick up the tab for travel expenses. Councillors at the Kingston Council public meeting last Monday (29 January) unanimously voted to push ahead with plans to revamp car parking spaces at the train station based on designs first drafted in September 2015.
