THE work of a Seaford artist is being displayed in Canberra after being selected as one of the best entrants into the Darling Portraiture Prize. A FOUNDATION which helps students at Frankston Chisholm complete their studies has received a $20,000 donation. The donation to the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation came from the Peninsula Kingswood Community Foundation. The CCEF provides funding for TAFE students to help them study, with money going towards their fees. A MAN has been arrested for allegedly stealing $30,000 worth of booze from bottle shops over a six month period. Police allege the 52-year-old stole high-end whiskey and scotch from bottle shops between December 2021 and July 2022. The 60 alleged thefts occurred across 19 suburbs, including Karingal, Chelsea Heights, and Cheltenham. The man was charged with 60 counts of theft. He has appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court. ARTIST Melanie Caple has been tasked with making Frankston’s utility boxes more appealing to the eye. Caple’s designs for the utility boxes are inspired by the Frankston landscape. Her past work has been exhibited across Australia. A PLAN for the future of the Kananook Reserve area is being formed. Frankston Council says a plan is necessary to protect the space given the current works on the nearby Frankston Basketball Stadium and Kananook Station commuter car park. It has invited submissions from the public on the space to help it put together a master plan.
