AN old medallion and memorial coin have been found near the Parkdale shops on Nepean Highway. The items (pictured below) were found near the Rivers on 23 September. The medallion has the name “L. NOBLE” on it, and the coin is stamped “Britannia 1797”. The items were found alongside other coins and currency. KINGSTON councillors have used their final ordinary meeting to send a message of support to marginalised communities. At their final meeting, councillors voted on a motion to reiterate “support for Indigenous Australians particularly those within our community and reiterate our commitment to working towards reconciliation, support for LGBTIQ+ Australians” and “support for our diverse multicultural community particularly in Kingston”. The motion also read that “hate speech and racism are not accepted or tolerated in our Kingston community”. The vote received unanimous support from councillors. A MOTORCYCLE rider caught doing a mono on the wrong side of the road has had his bike impounded. At 4.40pm on 29 September, Somerville highway patrol officers patrolling North Road in Langwarrin spotted the driver. They tried to pull him over but the motorcyclist allegedly refused to stop. The driver went onto Bergman Road and then onto a dirt track. His bike stalled and the man tried to flee on foot, but was eventually caught by police. THE Aldercourt Primary School playground was torn up and wrecked earlier this year. Sometime between 6.30pm on 7 May and 1pm on 8 May, offenders damaged play equipment at the Frankston North school, and tore up synthetic grass to access the rubber underneath, Police are still hoping to catch the offenders who caused the damage. DURING a normal year, children attending the First Learning Centre in Frankston South are able to visit their neighbours at the Benetas aged care home. Children and aged care residents would share music sessions together, an experience which was enjoyed by both. Aged care residents would also visit for morning and afternoon tea. Unfortunately this year has been far from normal, and children at the centre have been prevented from visiting the aged care facility during the pandemic.
