THREE men rescued from the cliff face at The Pillars, Mt Martha on Friday 5 July were members of a church group from the Bendigo area who told police they had been attracted to the popular cliff jumping spot by reports on social media. Two Strathdale men, 19 and 18 and a Lockwood man, 21 escaped injury after being pulled up the cliff face by CFA crews using ropes about 5pm. CARRUM train station closed this weekend, 6 July, to allow for work on a new rail bridge and station. It is not expected to reopen until early 2020. Trains will run express through the station on a temporary rail track. Shuttle buses will run between Seaford and Bonbeach stations. KINGSTON Council have voted to signal their disappointment at a “disingenuous” consultation process undertaken as part of the Victorian Electoral Commission’s electoral representation review.
