A BOAT facility at Oliver’s Hill will not be built by the state government, Frankston MP Paul Edbrooke says. The recent release of Better Boating Victoria’s recreational boating action plan sparked fears that a proposal to build a boating facility at Oliver’s Hill had been resurrected. A MUCH-loved local volunteer who died last week aged just 27 has been remembered for her kindness and generosity. Natasha Drake, known to many as Tash, was a volunteer with Chelsea SES and the Starlight Foundation. She died on 22 February after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm. A COMMITTEE will be set up by Frankston Council to give residents a say on future plans for boating on the Frankston foreshore. The release of the state government’s recreational boating action plan raised eyebrows among Frankston environmentalists recently. A EXTRA $214,000 will be set aside for council’s annual grants next year if proposed changes to the program are approved. Frankston Council will publicly exhibit a new structure for its annual grants program soon. The extra funding proposed by council officers in the draft policy would be allocated for in the 2022/2023 budget. The proposal would see annual grant program funding rise in 2022/2023 to $751,664, a net increase of $214,274 from the year prior.
