Police are investigating following a hit-run collision involving a pedestrian and a motorcycle in Carrum Downs this evening. It is believed three to five “trail bike” motorcycles were travelling east through a shopping centre car park on Hall Road, when one of them struck a woman about 5.10pm. Investigators were told the motorcycles failed to stop and left the scene. The 34-year-old Carrum Downs woman has been airlifted to The Alfred hospital with life threatening injuries. Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a burglary at Skye earlier this month. Investigators have been told burglars forced entry to a shed on a rural property on Ballarto Road sometime between 3 – 9 September. The offenders then stole a 20-year-old go kart with the number 69 on the front. Detectives have released an image of the go kart and appeal for anyone with information about the burglary to come forward. A WOMAN who tried to pass off credit cards as her own and who produced someone else’s driving licence as identification has been charged with obtaining property by deception and handling stolen goods. The woman, 27, approached staff at the Super-A-Mart store, Nepean Hwy, Moorabbin, Tuesday last week, and ordered $8000 in stock. She paid a small amount in cash and then applied for finance using an allegedly stolen driving licence. KEEN photographers should focus their attention on Kingston Council’s Lens Mist photography competition. The annual contest hits its seventh year this year and photographers can submit photos to capture “a creative response” to Port Phillip Bay with this year’s theme being “light”. Twenty finalists will have their pictures exhibited at next year’s Mordialloc, Food, Wine and Music Festival. A CENTENNIAL Lunch put on by Kingston Council last week in honour of the municipality’s elder citizens and their contribution to the community over several decades.
